Mara Aranda is one of the most international Valencian performers. Her career spans thirty years in which she has researched and sung Valencian, Greek, and Occitan music, and ancient, medieval, and Sephardic music, which have resulted in more than twenty records of excellent work, deserving of awards and recognitions on the part of the public and also of specialized press media, both national and international.
In her role as researcher and performer of this genre she boasts four albums: Sephardic Music and Song of East and West, Sephardic Legacy and “La música encerrada”, a collaboration with Capella de Ministrers. Her research has led her to residency trips in Thessaloniki, Istanbul and Jerusalem, prior to her recording, to corroborate the information and complete the musical works that can not be understood detached from its historical and cultural context. In 2017 her latest musical production appeared, Sefarad in the heart of Morocco, awarded the best European album of 2017 and, among all the world’s production, hers was number 9 of the top 100 albums in the world, an honor and position that in the history of the prestigious Transglobal Music Charts had never before been achieved by any Spanish record.
