One thing they have in common our Defense Towers in Ibiza and Formentera is, their spectacular views. Always located in coastal areas and in a height point to control better the land and the sea that surrounds them. They were pureposely design to give the alarm to the whole island in case of pirate attack, something that sounds like something from the Caribean sea but it happened very often in our coasts.
These watchtowers did even have a Watchmen Corps, can not imagine how would live be for those men. Two soldiers living there 24 hours a day, with the only exception of those days with very bad weather in which their guard sure should´ve been more quiet.
It is worth approaching them, take the camera with you, the views are always breathtaking.
