Sa Roqueta (Beach)

A pure white beach with crystalline waters, Sa Roqueta, lies between Es Pujols and Llevant.
Although very popular with nudists the waters are shallow and so it is perfect for families too.
If you walk to the end of the beach you will find a traditional beach bar serving drinks and, on occasion, vendors come along the beach selling coconuts and fresh fruits to sunbathers.

This virgin beach is not very large, there are lots of headlands and rocks and fine-grained white sand, orientation toward east, strong winds in the summer with an important swell, so that bathing might be dangerous, crystal clear water, aswell as a sandy ground with seaweed and some rocky areas. The beach is not too crowded.
This sandy area of Estany Pudent is separated from the old Salines d’en Marroig by the dunes, and this place has been delared Àrea Natural d’Especial Interès de ses Salines by the Parlament de les Illes Balears because of the natural richness in birds and landscape, aswell as Zona de Especial Protección para las Aves by the European Union.
S’Estany Pudent has an area of 3,4 square kilometres and it is the only reservoir in Formentera of stagnating water, with a maximum depth of two metres, although an artificial channel provides water from the sea. The name is given by the bad smell of its liquid element.
