Sa Dragonera Natural Park

Right in front of Sant Elm you’ll find the beautiful island of Sa Dragonera, an extension of the Serra de Tramuntana separated from Mallorca by the Canal des Freu. In its highest point (353 metres) it was built in 1850 the first lighthouse of the Balearic Islands, which houses nowadays an exhibition about the history of Mallorca’s lighthouses. Sa Dragonera can be reached by a boat departing both from Sant Elm and Andratx. In the island’s reception center there’s an exhibition about the park and information about the four marked itineraries is provided.

The natural park includes also the islands of Pantaleu, Illa Mitjana and Els Calafats, as well as a large marine area with Posidonia, the only endemic marine plant of the Mediterranean.
