Puig de Sa Morisca (Prehistoric Village)

Puig de Sa Morisca is a prehistoric village located next to the sea with an exceptional concentration of different archaeological sites, mainly from the Iron Age. The complex  is organised around a central village, Puig de Sa Morisca, which acts as a core of more than seven archaeological sites. The park includes some sites of great importance for understanding the prehistory of the Balearic Islands. In addition to the archaeological heritage, there are also  interesting ethnographic elements, beautiful landscapes (the site is surrounded by a pine’s forest) and natural heritage specimens within the park.

It is thought that the village was inhabited from Talaiotic times until 1229, when King Jaume I arrived to Mallorca to conquer the island from the Saracens. From the top of the mountain there are incredible views of Calviá’s Bay.
