This famous square was built around San Felipe Neri monastery and was famous for being the Inquisition’s seat until 1823. It has the typical structure of Major squares in Spain: a rectangular floor plan and a porticoed perimeter, with buildings of three or four floors. It’s one of the main meeting points in the city centre, both for tourists and locals, offering bars, restaurants and different spectacles and events throughout the year.
