Parc the la Mar is one of the biggest and nicest parks in the city. It was constructed in the 70’s between Palma’s promenade and the ancient city’s walls. Its privileged position, facing the sea right down the Cathedral, gives a special beauty to this park. The lake of salt water represents the sea that formerly touched the city’s walls. Due to its huge open air space, the park is often used for cultural events and parties. During August and September it becomes the scenery of Palma’s open air cinema, a unique opportunity to enjoy such a special spot in the city.
