Es Pujols Beach

Es Pujols is a fairly broad sandy beach which has little rocky islands offshore and is backed by sand dunes, Playa Es Pujols is situated in Es Pujols, the biggest tourist resort on Formentera.
There is a pretty promenade dotted with restaurants and bars, and shops with all beach necessities nearby.
Watersports are very popular at Playa Es Pujols.
Behind the beach is an expanse of protected sand dunes and a wooden walkway with some nice bars and restaurants has been provided to allow visitors to walk the full length of the beach.
Es Pujols is the beach of the village with the same name, between Punta Prima, with racons des Cinges and des Fornet, and Pedrera d’en Coix aswell as next to the village of Punta Prima, the tower with the same name (tower without artillery) and the megalithic tomb of Ca na Costa. From this coastal area you can see some small islands which protect this bay from the sea current and from the wind, Illa de l’Àguila, Illa des Fonoll Marí, Illa Plana and Illa de s’Aigua Dolça.

This u-shaped sea inlet has the biggest touristic and leisure activity in Formentera, it is not too big, open to the winds from the north-northeast-east-southeast, the beach has fine-grained golden sand, quiet and clear water, aswell as a very gentle slope (at 50 metres from the coast there is a depth of 1,5 metres) and nudism is allowed.

The marine and underwater conditions for anchoring boats are the best in the southeast of Punta Prima, at about two hectometres from the coast, on a sandy ground. The navigator has to know that anchoring boats is restricted between Punta Prima and des Trucadors.

These characteristics explain that the beach might be crowded by local visitors as well as tourists.
