Following with the draws and explanations that “s´Arxiduc” wrote about Ibiza, the Town hall has prepared 3 routes, during 3 weekends to get to know the old town throught the eyes of this Historian that came to the islands between 1867 and 1885.
Tour 1-
The tour of Dalt Vila and the walled city, begins climbing the “Portal de ses Taules” just by the Old Market.
Will continue to the old Dominican Monastery (Town Hall), where “s´Arxiduc” (the Archduke) made a number of comments regarding the building and the buildings that surround it, just like the old Casino.
After that, will reach the Cathedral square where we´ll put special attention to the buildings mentioned by s´Arxiduc : the Cathedral, the Castle, the building of the University and the Curia.
Behind the Castle, at the “ronda de s´Almudaina”, will remember the comments regarding the Renaissance fortification, highlighting the Tower of Homage and the spectacular views to Formentera.
The tour will end in front Portal Nou.
