Popular afternoon snack

berenada puig des molins

In honor to remember that august 8th, when the catalan troops landed on the island and conquered it. This popular snack is one of the most nice and friendly fiestas of the people from Ibiza town.
Starts with a meeting in Vara de Rey and once the band is ready, we start walkig to es Puig des Molins, just down the old city walls. It is thought that it was here where those troops first step the island.
A popular paella (paid usually by the townhall) and lots of fruits. Usually people bring their own “senalló” with some “sobrassada” or “coca”, watermelon, organes, “orelletes”…. everybody sits down on the floor or on a rock, and simply sits down and enjoys the snack and the company of their neighbours.
If you´re one of those that (like us) feel like a little bit to soak up with the local ambiance, this could be a clear example of what you should doing.
Begins at 19:00h in Vara de Rey, the walk to es Puig des Molins is a very short track.
Workshops for children, traditional games.
