Last concert of the Cultural Festival Nits de Tanit. World Music by the Irish group Dervish.

In 1989 the formation of the seed of the later Dervish group was produced, when Shane Mitchell, Martin McGinley, Brian McDonagh and Michael Holmes released The Boys of Sligo.
Inspired by of this training and with the reasonable success of this first album, the members of the group decided to move forward in the professionalization of their artistic project and adopted the name of Dervish. The next two years were and time to of consolidation, training, time to polish ideas and concepts.

In 1991 a very important event took place for the group’s career took place and it was the incorporation of the singer Cathy Jordan, as well as the renowned musician Shane Mitchell. In 1992, the first group album, Harmony Hill, appeared, which in a short time achieved unbeatable reviews from the specialized press, which was welcomed with great pleasure by the public and was described as “a model for Irish traditional music “. This impact represented a capital evolution in various aspects: on the artistic and musical level as well as in the professional and media sector, especiorally the radio and television in their country surrendered to the quality of Dervish.
