Exhibition : “A postcard from Utopia” @ Adda Gallery

a postcard from utopia

Some come to this island for its beauty, heading north to lose themselves in rough, un-manicured beaches and forests of pine; others come to a place of sweat and bass lines, to lose themselves in a forest of strobes. Some come to find their spirit, others, their body. For some, it’s a hard journey, a place you’re washed up on after years of neglect; for others it’s a pilgrimage saved up for, longed for, finally achieved. It can be a place to pass through, a quick shot in the arm before returning to reality; or it can be a paradisal bubble, that reality eschewed. For the payesas, it is their home and has been for centuries and once the wanderers and tourists and artists and arrows of time have passed through, it will be their home for centuries more.

Everyone sees this island through a lens and so Adda Gallery invites you to see Ibiza through the lenses of nine photographers from different backgrounds, cultures and countries, exhibiting work inspired by and created on the island; to see Ibiza as they see it.
